The German wines and beers were lovely but it was so nice to be back in France and to enjoy a variety of beers. I love having my wine served in a pichet, although the same as a large glass it always feels like there is more as I top up my glass.

We bought German wine back from our accommodation Weinguts and from a few places we visited. Although we did bring home some German beer most brands are available at home.

It was a joy to visit Andrieux-Lefort champagne house whilst in Epernay and bring home their superb champagne.

Mosel is a beautiful area with such amazing vines growing on the banks of the river, somewhere we will be visiting again but in the meantime we'll enjoy our German wine in our Mosel glasses and remember all the fun we had!

Our breakfasts ranged from inexpensive supermarket paper cup coffees to elegant balcony dining, both superb.

Lunch was often supermarket salads, I wish we had them here, so fresh and tasty and great for our travelling days.

We ate in many different restaurants, Schnitzel and Flammkuchen were our most chosen dishes but we did enjoy some great steaks.

Coffee stops with cake, ice cream and Cafe Gourmand were our sweet treats, I really enjoyed the rhubarb tart.

We enjoyed some superb food and I've plenty of new meal ideas now we're home.
