Belgium, Germany and France - food

If you have popped by to read this I hope it hasn't made you too hungry 😆

This blog post (and my drinks post) is really a record of what delicious food we ate on our Belguim, Germany and France holiday ... all very much enjoyed!

It was 30 months since we last had these in France.

Our welcome tray of wine and nibbles at Weingut S. A. Prum

Father's Day Schnitzel and Bitburger beer in Wehlen

Salmon & Shrimp Flammkuchen and Lard on bread with onion and gherkins,

Cheese and ham croissant with coffee, breakfast on a travel day

Rhubarb tart, not the best to look at but delicious and not sour

Wedding Anniversary meal in Chalons-en-Champagne

Andouilette sausage and Salmon Croque in Chalons-en-Champagne

Cafe Gourmand in Epernay - my favourite French dessert

Steak Hache with Cellier des Dauphins at Flunch in Calais

Final breakfast at Auchan in Calais

Our breakfasts ranged from inexpensive supermarket paper cup coffees to elegant balcony dining, both superb.

Lunch was often supermarket salads, I wish we had them here, so fresh and tasty and great for our travelling days.

We ate in many different restaurants, Schnitzel and Flammkuchen were our most chosen dishes but we did enjoy some great steaks.

Coffee stops with cake, ice cream and Cafe Gourmand were our sweet treats, I really enjoyed the rhubarb tart.

We enjoyed some superb food and I've plenty of new meal ideas now we're home.
